Global speaker line-up for IPTC

Top global oil and gas industry experts are confirmed to speak at the ninth International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), an annual event rotating between Asia Pacific and the Middle East, later this year in Doha, Qatar.

The event, to be held at the state-of-the-art Qatar National Convention Centre from December 7 to 9, is expected to draw 5,000 delegates from over 70 countries. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit more than 70 exhibitors, hear from senior speakers and attend a variety of networking events.

The IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award will also be presented on December 6, at a ceremony and dinner to be held at St Regis Hotel in Doha.

This edition of IPTC will be hosted by Qatar Petroleum, co-hosted by Shell and take place under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, The Emir of the State of Qatar.

Under the theme ‘Technology and Partnerships for a Sustainable Energy Future’, this year’s IPTC will include two CEO Plenary Sessions and five Panel Sessions, addressing the most significant trends, challenges and opportunities facing the industry today and in the future. Among the CEOs and industry leaders taking part in these sessions will be:

•         Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, President and CEO, Qatar Petroleum
•         Ben Van Beurden, CEO, Royal Dutch Shell
•         Amin Nasser, President and CEO, Saudi Aramco
•         Patrick Pouyanné, CEO, Total
•         Nizar Al-Adsani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, KPC
•         Ryan Lance, Chairman and CEO, ConocoPhillips
•         Ali Al-Jarwan, CEO, ADMA-OPCO
•         Jakob Thomasen, CEO, Maersk Oil & Gas
•         Lorenzo Simonelli, President and CEO, GE Oil & Gas
•         Lukman Mahfoedz, CEO, Medco Energi International
•         Jean-Gorges Malcor, CEO, CGG

A total of 1,300 papers were submitted for this year’s event, of which 350 will be presented over 62 technical sessions.

“In the current oil price environment, both cutting-edge technology and better long-term collaboration across the supply chain will play a significant role in mitigating any negative impact, as well as putting the industry on a much better footing for the future,” said Waleed Refaay, IPTC project director.
