Estimated shut down impact...$93.3m

Yansab to shut petchem plants for maintenance

AL KHOBAR, April 17, 2015

Saudi Arabia's Yanbu National Petrochemical Co (Yansab) plans to shut its petrochemical complex this month for maintenance for 35 days, it said in a bourse filing on Thursday.

The firm, a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic), would close its complex from Friday.

An ethylene glycol plant would also be shut for 60 days, it said in the statement.

Yansab estimated a financial impact of SR350 million ($93.3 million), taking into consideration the drop in the current average price of products.

The company recently reported a 48.7 per cent drop in first-quarter net profit, missing analysts' forecasts, as lower feedstock prices and higher sales volumes couldn't make up for lower average sales prices for all its products. - Reuters
