Maire Tecnimont wins $2.25bn Abu Dhabi EPC deal

MILAN, December 13, 2014

Italy's Maire Tecnimont has won a $2.25-billion engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) for the development of key surface facilities in the UAE capital.

Maire Tecnimont is a leader in the international engineering and construction, technology and licensing and energy business development and ventures markets, with specific competences in plants, particularly in the hydrocarbons segment (oil and gas, petrochemicals and fertilisers), as well as in power generation and infrastructure.

As per the deal, the Italian group will execute the third phase of Al Dabbi'iya surface facilities, in Abu Dhabi.

Adco, one of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) group of companies, operates the Al Dabb'iya field which is located 40 km south west of Abu Dhabi.

Al Dabbi'iya Phase III is part of the Adco North East Bab (NEB) development programme. The current project's scope of work includes the EPC activities up to performance tests for the expansion of the existing facility.

It will encompass the following main parts: Gathering crude oil system through a network of pipelines; central process plant and oil and gas export pipelines.
