Iraq eyes 4m bpd oil output by end 2012

Iraq's oil production could reach up to four million barrels per day by the end of next year, its deputy oil minister told Reuters Insider television on Wednesday.

'By the end of next year I think it could be in the region of 3.5 to 4 million barrels per day,' Ahmed Al-Shamma said in an interview.

He reiterated Iraq was aiming for oil output at 3 million bpd by the end of this year. – Reuters
