UAE’s oil use ‘set to climb 27.5pc by 2020’

Dubai, June 15, 2011

UAE’s domestic oil consumption is expected to increase by 27.5 per cent between 2010 and 2020, reaching 599,000 barrels per day, said the organisers of an upcoming oil and gas event in Dubai.

Arab Oil & Gas (AOGS) 2011, the premier biennial showcase for the region's oil, gas and petrochemical industry, will run from September 18 to 20 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More than 250 exhibitors from more than 25 countries will be participating in the international trade event, added organisers International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E).

"The Arab Oil & Gas 2011 has generated strong interest underlining the region’s reputation as an ideal business and investment destination for the oil and gas sector,” said Anselm Godinho, managing director, IC&E.

“The UAE, for instance, is expected to intensify investments in various oil and gas projects and address evolving infrastructural requirements in light of the country’s increasing oil consumption levels.”

“This has, in turn created excellent opportunities for international suppliers, technology vendors and other key players who are looking to explore exciting business opportunities at Arab Oil & Gas 2011,” he added.

AOGS will be attended by companies in the global oil and gas sector, who will be demonstrating their latest innovations and launching new products and technology, while seeking opportunities to sign contracts with regional distributors and agents.

The event will also host technical presentations and provide a platform for exhibitors to tap into regional business opportunities, network with industry players already trading in the region and appoint agents and distributors for their products. – TradeArabia News Service
