Bapco shutdown success

Manama, June 2, 2011

Bapco completing the Hub 1 turnaround and inspection (T&I) was one of the most successful in the company's history with numerous achievements that have exceeded all expectations.

'The shutdown was executed very smoothly despite it being carried out in the toughest period in the kingdom's history,' spokesman said.

'The success was attributed primarily to the vast experience of shutdown team, their dedication and the in-depth planning that had been put into it.

'There was zero lost time (LTI) and zero non-lost (NLTI) injuries throughout the 65 days duration of the Hub 1 T&I's.

'Bapco and contractors jointly achieved 1.1 million man-hours worked without a single LTI or NLTI.

'This is unprecedented in Bapco history.'

He added that there were zero leaks on the entire high pressure loop of No 1 Hydro Cracking Unit, during pressure test and start-up of the LSDP Complex as well as trouble-free start-ups on all other units.-TradeArabia News Service
