Dubai forum to discuss key energy issues

Energy leaders and professionals will discuss energy development and sustainable future a a major forum in Dubai next month.

Intensive preparations are underway to ensure the success of the first Dubai Global Energy Forum, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said Saeed Al Tayer, vice-chairman of the Supreme Council for Energy in Dubai.

The forum, under the theme “Energy Challenges and Opportunities for a Sustainable Future”, will be held from April 17 to 19 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The event has the full support of the Government of Dubai to address the future needs for energy for urban planning.

Considering that energy is the primary pillar for life and the most important factor to achieve sustainable development, this is the driving mission of all the world’s governments to achieve sustainable development, a statement said.

Al Tayer said the forum will provide a platform for energy leaders and professionals to exchange views and ideas on the regional and global issues affecting energy policies, programs and environmental sustainability.

The forum will address best practices in the fields of oil and gas, renewable energy, the peaceful use of nuclear energy, current policies, programs, technologies and investment opportunities in the energy sector, he said.

"We have great hopes for this forum, which addresses the important future energy challenges that will be faced by the region and the world. We are confident that this forum will provide cost-effective sustainable solutions including a mix of alternative energy sources resulting in a more environmentally-friendly energy sector worldwide,” Al Tayer said.

He added that the forum will consist of eight major tracks of plenary and parallel sessions addressed by keynote speakers and panellists. Sessions will address specific topics in each track through in-depth analyses and will provide the audience with focused presentations and opportunities for discussions. All sessions will also provide guests with well-researched and well-documented supporting documents. – TradeArabia News Service
