Aramco's JV refinery sees maintenance in 2011

Riyadh, August 24, 2009

Saudi Aramco and Royal Dutch Shell plan to shut their joint venture Jubail refinery in March 2011 for a week, an industry source said late on Saturday.

'The whole refinery will be shut in March 2011 for seven days as the utility will be down,' the source said.

In 2010, a thermal gas unit, a breaker and another sulphur unit will be closed, he added.

A sulphur recovery unit will also be shut for maintenance in October for about three weeks, he said.

The 305,000 barrel per day refinery can export as much as 60,000 tonnes of oil products per day, mainly fuel oil, naphtha, gas oil and jet.-Reuters
