Argas opens Saudi technical centre

Al Khobar, August 13, 2009

Argas, a joint venture between CGGVeritas and Taqa, has opened a new technology centre in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The centre offers a range of state-of-the-art capabilities and resources for oil and gas companies, and researchers from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, CGGVeritas said.

The centre provides R&D experts to help address specific geophysical challenges, world-class training and high-end processing and imaging technologies, including a visualisation centre.

The centre aims to advance the sophisticated processing algorithms developed globally to unmask the embedded value of the seismic data being acquired here, CGGVeritas CEO Robert Brunck said. – TradeArabia News Service
