Expo focus on energy conservation
Abu Dhabi, July 9, 2008
Germany’s Techem Energy Services will showcase its range of energy conserving solutions at a prestigious property management and maintenance exhibition in Abu Dhabi later this year.
The market leader in wireless metering will aim to help builders add environment-friendly energy conserving solutions at a time when the Gulf is experiencing a construction boom.
Their expertise will be on show at the Working Buildings Middle East, which is scheduled to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on November 17-18.
“We are pleased that Techem Energy Services are choosing our event as a platform to showcase solutions that will help the regional industry to improve its power and operational efficiency requirements through better management of daily energy usage and significantly reducing consumption and thereby the impact on the environment,” said Chris Fountain, event director of organisers CMPi.
“Spiralling energy demand in the Gulf states, coupled with a gas-supply crunch, has put pressure on regional economies that require more hydrocarbons being devoted to power generation than had been the case historically, as power supply needs to keep pace with development," Fountain added.
The oil-boom-fuelled economic growth, coupled with fast growing populations and subsidy-driven consumer patterns, has made the Gulf countries some of the largest per-capita energy consumers in the world.
“Our know how in metering and cost allocation of heat can be applied almost directly to cooling,” Techem’s director for international markets Hans-Lothar Schäfer said.
“A major benefit for potential customers: Techem can offer them a full service package, comprising measuring equipment and every single service from equipment installation and maintenance, all the way to the issue of individual bills. Furthermore, Techem is world leader in terms of the use of radio technology for measuring energy consumption.”
Techem measures the energy consumption of 400,000 customers in 7.9 million households in 27 countries.
Working Buildings Middle East will provide a valuable opportunity for local and international companies to showcase their products and services to the increasingly important Middle East market. The new event has been designed to target all those involved in the management and maintenance of buildings and property. It will explore the latest products, services and best-practice examples relating to the complete life cycle of a building. – Trade Arabia News Service
