Nippon Oil, Al Qudra in tieup talks

Abu Dhabi, February 18, 2008

Al Qudra Holding and Nippon Oil are moving to implement the joint co-operation agreement.

A delegation from Japan-based Nippon Oil Corporation paid a visit to the headquarters of Al Qudra Holding in Abu Dhabi following the deal signed in Tokyo between the two parties in December 2007, the company said in a statement.

The visit signals the start of the implementation of a series of action plans, most urgent of which, is to conduct a study on the construction of a cement sulphate factory in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The action plan stipulates that Nippon Oil will be responsible for the technical aspect of the project, while Al Qudra Holding takes on the marketing side of the study.

“This cement sulphate plant will be the first of its kind in the Middle East,” said Nippon Oil Company executive vice-president Makoto Satani.

“Our cement sulphate should be environment-friendly and resistant to erosion. During the first phase of the project our products will be mainly used for drainage channels and coastal projects,” he said. – TradeArabia News Service
