Bridgestone, Alserkal sponsor health, safety activities
DUBAI, March 21, 2017
Bridgestone Middle East and its sole importer and distributor for Dubai and the Northern Emirates Nasser bin Abdullatif Alserkal have teamed up to promote occupational health safety at Emirates Transport (ET), the leading transport and auto services corporation.
The global tyre maker and its distributor are jointly sponsoring a month’s worth of activities, including training and promotions, backed up with the provision of the technical hardware which will help keep the 20,000-strong fleet of vehicles serviced by Emirates Transport in peak condition.
Taking place throughout the month of March, the initiative dovetails with the sixth Emirates Transport Month of Occupational Health and Safety inaugurated by Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, ET general manager.
Mete Ekin, regional managing director, Bridgestone Middle East and Africa, explained: “Emirates Transport has taken a strong lead in promoting occupational health and safety among its workforce and this culture very much fits with both Bridgestone’s and Alserkal’s ‘safety first’ ethos so it makes perfect sense for us to play a significant role in what is an extremely worthwhile and valuable initiative.”
These sentiments were echoed by Ahmad Bin Eisa Alserkal, vice chairman of Nasser Bin Abdullatif Alserkal Est.
“As the sole Bridgestone distributor for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Alserkal has forged a strong relationship with Emirates Transport over the years and we are an enthusiastic partner when it comes to promoting the safe handling and correct maintenance of the products we supply. The more that ET technicians know our products and understand how to handle them correctly, the better for all concerned,” he said.
A fleet manager training course has already taken place as part of the sponsorship with positive feedback from those taking part. - TradeArabia News Service
