Emirates Motor unveils new Mercedes-Benz hybrid
ABU DHABI, January 26, 2016
Emirates Motor Company (EMC), the authorized distributor of Mercedes-Benz unveiled the first Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid model in the region - the ‘S 500 e’ at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
Considered the world's first luxury saloon to consume less than 3.0 litres of fuel per 100 km, the ‘S 500e’ is part of Mercedes-Benz’s efforts to build electric cars and plug-in hybrids that offer several environmental benefits.
Blending an ultramodern hybrid drive configuration with the unique innovations and the luxurious fit-out of the S-Class, the new Mercedes-Benz ‘S 500 e’ combines efficient performance comparable to that of a V8 with the fuel consumption of a compact model. The car can cover up to 33 km on electric power alone with zero per cent emission, making it the perfect travel companion to navigate the busy city roads.
Nassim Mourani, general manager at EMC Passenger Cars, said: “Emirates Motor Company is delighted to offer visitors to ADSW a sneak-peek of the unique in-built features of our most exclusive Mercedes-Benz ‘S 500e’.”
“Our participation at ADSW articulates EMC’s continued commitment towards the society by promoting sustainable energy and offering innovative solutions that will ensure a better future for all. In showcasing this plug-in and hybrid model, we seek to support the UAE’s vision to cut down the carbon footprint and save energy by promoting hybrid and fuel efficient cars,” he added.\
“Mercedes-Benz has always been at the forefront of technological advancements, and the ‘S 500e’ sets new standards for fuel efficiency, emission-free mobility and climate comfort without compromising the comfort of Mercedes Benz’s renowned luxury and safety standards,” Mourani explained. – TradeArabia News Service
