More than 28,500 people are using the new public transport network in Bahrain on a daily basis, almost double the number compared to the old network, said a report.

Bahrain's public transport department has seen the numbers rise dramatically from the 14,000 who used the earlier network, reported our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej, citing the Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal Ahmed.

A total of 141 buses are operating across the kingdom covering about 77 per cent of the areas, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
