JEDDAH, September 28, 2015
Nissan has unveiled the all-new Nissan Maxima 2016 for the Middle East, the completely redesigned eighth generation model.
The all-new Nissan Maxima 2016 is set to re-define its segment as it brings head turning design, enhanced performance and state-of-the-art technology to Middle East customers, said a statement.
Together, these attributes make the new Nissan Maxima a unique combination of sports car style with premium elegance, it said.
Samir Cherfan, Nissan Middle East managing director, said: “The dramatically styled all-new Nissan Maxima 2016, created by driving enthusiasts for driving enthusiasts, looks like nothing else on the road today – and drives like nothing in the segment.
"It not only resets Nissan Maxima's iconic ‘4-Door Sports Car’ positioning, it sets a new standard for style, performance and technology in the large sedan segment.
"The new Nissan Maxima reinvents what has been essentially a conservative segment. It raises the bar incredibly high in class-leading design, fuel efficiency, performance and technology. The market hasn’t seen anything as exciting as this within this segment.”
Nissan expects the all-new Nissan Maxima 2016 to command a 12 per cent share in the E-segment in the GCC, with a goal of selling around 7,000 vehicles, an increase of more than 70 per cent in sales compared to last year.
The key features in the new model includes a new design language and its top performance substantially eclipses market performance and is on par with many sports cars.
The Nissan Maxima's 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 has been redesigned with more than 60 per cent new parts (compared to the previous generation 3.5-liter V6).
With 300 horsepower, the Nissan Maxima has a high specific output of 85.7 horsepower/liter. The revised engine will help it achieve an anticipated 15 per cent increase in highway fuel economy to an EPA estimated 30 miles per gallon.
Complementing the revised powerplant is a new, performance-oriented Xtronic transmission featuring a wider ratio range, which will allow for stronger acceleration from a standing start and an all-new D-Step shifting logic that provides rapid shifts at high throttle openings.
The new model's' premium-level technology features include an eight-inch colour display features multi-touch control for intuitive smartphone-like gestures such as swiping and pinch-to-zoom.
The system has been paired with a standard seven-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD) within the instrument cluster.
The vehicle boasts an extensive range of safety, security and driving aids, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) and Blind Spot Warning (BSW).
It also offers an available Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system which monitors steering input patterns to establish a baseline and helps alert the driver when drowsy or inattentive driving is detected (only on Nissan Maxima SR grade). - TradeArabia News Service
