Volkswagen SUVs sales up by 270 per cent compared
to same period in 2014

Volkswagen ME reports surge in sales

DUBAI, July 15, 2015

Volkswagen Middle East reported June 2015 as the most successful month for sales of its SUV models – the new Touareg and Tiguan – driving an increase of 15 per cent for overall model sales across the Middle East and Levant compared to the same period last year.

The Volkswagen SUVs sales increased by 270 per cent compared to June 2014, with the Volkswagen Touareg and Tiguan witnessing an increase in deliveries of 231 per cent and 39 per cent respectively, said a statement from the company.

Behbehani Brothers Company, exclusive dealer of Volkswagen in Kuwait, was recognised as the best performing market for sales of the popular SUV models, followed closely by Al Nabooda Automobiles, the exclusive dealer in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and Q-Auto, the official Volkswagen distributor in Qatar, it said.

Thomas Milz, managing director for Volkswagen Middle East, said: “Reporting a 15 per cent increase in sales is evidence of a successful seasonal campaign.”

“However, the standout performers were clearly the new Touareg and the Tiguan, which were reinforced across our retail network by our exceptional sales teams and incomparable seasonal offers during Ramadan,” he said.

“This season, we introduced very competitive comprehensive offers inclusive of cash savings and service packages, which were bespoke bundles for each market across the Volkswagen Middle East retail network,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
