Nissan wins at Gemas Effie Awards
DUBAI, December 2, 2014
Nissan, a leading automobile manufacturer, is the most awarded company in the automotive category for the fourth consecutive year at the 2014 Gemas Effie Awards, the top professional marketing awards.
The ceremony that took place in The Meydan hotel, Dubai, UAE, recently, recognised Nissan’s clear leadership in the 2014 Effie Marketing effectiveness by shortlisting the company in a total of eight categories and awarding it with two prestigious awards.
Samir Cherfan, managing director, Nissan Middle East, said: “We are extremely proud to be recognised again this year by the Effie awards, as this is a confirmation that we are on the right path. The awards are a testament to the fact that Nissan is consistently delivering ideas and top-class marketing initiatives that work”.
Nissan Middle East was shortlisted in a total of eight categories, of which the Nissan Patrol won the Gold award, where the Nissan Tiida won the Silver award.
The Effies are considered the ‘gold standard’ in marketing communications effectiveness. They reward campaigns, from any discipline, which have achieved success through proven, effective marketing communications.
Earlier this year, Nissan was awarded as the ‘Most Effective Automotive Brand’ in the Mena region (Middle East and North Africa) and was ranked fifth in the Mena area overall. This was higher than any other car maker, with the next best automotive brand appearing in 12th position.
During this year, Nissan has claimed further multiple honours at the following:
• Interband - Top Global Green Brands.
• Effie awards - Most Effective Automotive Brand in the Middle East.
• Interband – Best Global Brands for 2014.
