The Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), has announced the calendar of events for Dubai Motor Festival (DMF) 2014, which will include some of the biggest names in the world of motorsport along with a spectacular line-up of motoring events.

This year’s DMF will be the second edition of the region’s biggest annual motoring extravaganza, and was announced at a press conference held at Meydan Hotel, Dubai, UAE.

The event will take place from November 19 to December 6, under the theme ‘Passion on Wheels’, DMF 2014 will offer an electrifying motoring experience for residents and visitors in Dubai.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Dubai Motor Festival forms part of the emirate’s strategy to use festivals and events as a means to drive tourism growth in line with Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020.
 
A citywide celebration of motoring passion in all its forms, the Dubai Motor Festival opens the annual motoring season in the UAE with a world-class series of events that offer unique and engaging motoring experiences for drivers, dealers and families. From events that are being held for the first time in the world and the region to the most amazing cars, from spectacular parades to fabulous deals, Dubai Motor Festival 2014 will showcase a number of activities designed to excite and engage the community and make motoring entertainment accessible to the entire family.

Dubai Motor Festival 2014 Calendar of Events

The Infiniti F1™ Showrun comes to Dubai as the Opening Event of the Dubai Motor Festival. Bringing the high octane excitement of Formula One to the city, Infiniti Middle East presents four-time FIA World Championship winning Formula One team Infiniti Red Bull Racing and the 2011 Championship winning RB7. The RB7 will take part in a live demonstration alongside the supercar performance of Infiniti’s stunning Q50 Eau Rouge concept, at Skydive Dubai on November 19. Behind the wheel of both cars will be two of the best drivers in the world: quadruple FIA Drivers’ Formula One World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, and his teammate Daniel Ricciardo.

Next up is the Supercar Taxi - a unique concept that allows residents and tourists in Dubai to experience the ride of their lifetime - absolutely free. A fleet of 10 supercars - each valued at over Dh1 million - will be deployed in high-footfall areas such as malls, airport, and tourist landmarks across the city, offering customers a free one-way ride within Dubai on three weekends during DMF 2014 – November 21-22, November 28-29, and December 5-6.

Dubai Motor Festival then moves on to one of its signature events - the Dubai Grand Parade, a citywide motoring extravaganza featuring the largest convoy of super, luxury and classic cars and bikes in the region. Taking place on November 28, the parade will weave its way through the city’s iconic streets and past a series of breathtaking landmarks.

A specially-designed Motor Village, will see the Meydan transform into a fascinating world of motoring entertainment on November 28, as it plays host to an elaborate line-up of activities ranging from ‘Inspired Light by Infiniti QX70S’ - a unique event that marks the first time a ‘painting by light’ show will be performed exclusively by cars, in this case the Infiniti QX70S Elite - to the hugely popular Red Bull Car Park Drift Final.

The family-friendly Motor Village also includes dubizzle live which will host an incredible mix of cars, live music, interactive games and competitions with plenty of giveaways on the day. Experience F1 simulators, learn about motoring safety and be able to view up close some of the most exclusive motoring brands. The Motor Village will also host dedicated events celebrating the UAE’s 43rd National Day.

Arabian Automobiles (AW Rostamani Group), the exclusive distributor of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault in Dubai and Northern Emirates will present numerous activities at Motor Village including an exclusively engineered 4x4 obstacle course; an experiential test drive demonstrating the tough capabilities and latest technology of its flagship vehicle, the Nissan Patrol, the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Champion League Zone, an on ground competition activation; GT Academy Zone, which will turn ordinary video gamers to real professional race car drivers; and the Nissan X-Trail 2015, which will be an active test drive giving visitors the opportunity to experience the new 7-seater SUV.

Adding to the excitement at DMF 2014 will be the 36th Dubai International Rally, the final and deciding round of the 2014 FIA Middle East Rally Championship. Following the official starting ceremony in Dubai on November 27, the rally comes to life the following morning when the cars go into action on the first of two legs of competitive stages run through the desert.
