Dubai, February 9, 2012
BMW Group Middle East has unveiled the all-new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé, the first four-door coupé in the history of the brand, which will go on sale in the Middle East in the middle of this year.
Making its global debut at the Geneva International Motor Show in March, the third model in the BMW 6 Series line-up follows in the tracks of the Convertible and Coupé that launched in the region early last year, a statement said.
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé integrates the stand-out looks and dynamics of a coupé into a fresh new model, it added.
Front-end design is highlighted by model-specific electroplated bars between the air intake and fog lamps; twin round headlights with three-dimensional light rings; optional adaptive LED headlights and a distinctive silhouette with flowing Coupé-style roof line.
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé interior features Dakota leather upholstery and heated front seats, electric seat adjustment with memory function for the driver and front passenger, two-zone automatic climate control with extended features, automatically dimming exterior and rear-view mirrors, electric steering wheel adjustment, and the Radio Professional with Hi-Fi loudspeaker system and USB audio interface.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo engine available for the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé tops in sportiness and efficiency with the six-cylinder in-line petrol engine in the BMW 640i Gran Coupé outputting 235 kW/320 hp, and the BMW 650i Gran Coupé V8 engine outputs 330 kW/450 hp.
The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology of the new-generation engines include Valvetronic fully variable valve timing which further enhances both power and efficiency across the engine speed range.
BMW EfficientDynamics measures unmatched in the segment – including Auto Start-Stop function and ECO PRO mode, which helps reduce fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent depending on the model and individual driving behaviour – which come as standard with all engine variants.
The new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupé also has a range of BMW ConnectedDrive features that give the driver and passengers information and services to help make their driving experience safer and more comfortable, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
