Hertz eyes solid regional growth
Dubai, May 2, 2011
Hertz, one of the world’s largest general use car rental brand, is taking part in Arabian Travel Market as part of a strategy to boost its presence in the Middle East and Africa region.
ATM, the region’s leading trade exhibition for travel professionals, opened in Dubai on Monday.
Hertz said it is planning further investment in the region over the next few years to solidify its position in this strategic region.
Michel Taride, president of Hertz International and executive vice president of Hertz Corporation, will be lead the ATM team this week to underline this message to its regional franchisees and travel trade professionals.
“We are taking steps to ensure that the Hertz brand is in the best position for growth and strong performance in the Middle East and Africa in the years ahead,” said Taride.
“We have a good deal of new business in the pipeline within the region, which is an increasingly important market for us. This is why we set up our first regional corporate office in Dubai last year as part of a three to five-year investment plan which is designed to deliver increased support to our regional franchises.”
Hertz operates the largest network of car rental locations in the Middle East and Africa, with 34 franchisees providing a comprehensive range of car rental and leasing services from more than 227 outlets across the region.
“This is an important platform for us to reinforce our commitment to the trade, and to remind them of the quality of service they can expect when booking with Hertz,” said Gina Costa, commercial director, Hertz Middle East and Africa.
“We have a strong presence from across the region at our stand, emphasising the strength of the brand in the Middle East and Africa and the team spirit that exists among our business partners. This is something that we’re going to build on by working ever closer together,' she noted.
“ATM gives us an opportunity for us to meet with potential new and existing customers and to reinforce our brand message and our commitment to the region. Linked to ATM again we are also staging our annual industry reception when we will be hosting our partners and customers,” Coasta added.-TradeArabia News Service
