Chevrolet Cruze scoops ME awards
Dubai, December 21, 2010
Chevrolet’s leading compact sedan, the Cruze, has scooped the 'Best Value for Money' award from leading Middle East media outlets Automobile Magazine and Future TV’s Automobile Program.
The recognition comes as part of their annual motoring awards, announced this year at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show, said a statement from General Motors.
As leading Middle East motoring titles, the Automobile Awards have been running for 16 years, gaining them a highly regarded reputation within the automotive industry, it stated.
Selection and judging is done through a series of test drives and evaluation by the editorial team, in addition to gathering customer’s feedback of the vehicles in review.
"The recognition that Chevrolet Cruze has received from these highly regarded motoring media outlets demonstrates GM’s success in creating well designed and technologically advanced vehicles. The Cruze is a great value car, offering design appeal, build quality and refinement” said Susan Docherty, vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales at GM International Operations.
“Such awards prove that GM models are popular not only around the world, but in the ever important Middle East market and this is something that makes us very proud,” she added.
The popularity of the Cruze in the Middle East, Susan said, was demonstrated by its outstanding sales figures, which increased by 98 per cent in November compared to same period last year.
The Cruze has also won Best Small Saloon Car at the Middle East Motor Awards 2010; a five-star rating in China NCAP; Urban Car of The Year 2010 by Decisive Media; and Best Small Car 2009 from Middle East Car magazine, the statement said.
In 2011 the Chevrolet Cruze will continue to deliver segment-leading features and details that challenge preconceived notions about compact cars, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
