Mercedes-Benz sees record sales in May
Dubai, June 8, 2010
German luxury car company Mercedes-Benz registered record sales in May with over 1520 cars delivered during the month across the Middle East and Levant region.
This was the best sales month since October 2008, said Frank Bernthaler, director of sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Middle East & Levant.
The year on year sales too went up 22 per cent with the C-Class and E-Class models being the hot favourites, he noted.
“Our extremely affordable special edition models are a big hit with the C-Class AMG package taking over 75 per cent of total C-Class sales,” said Bernthaler.
“Waiting in the wings we have a firework of special editions which we will launch in the next three months including a special Business Edition of the E-Class and Grand Editions of our GLK, ML and GL SUVs which provide fantastic value for money,” he remarked.
The month of May saw the German luxury car company deliver nearly 270 C-Class and some 500 E-Class across the region with the cabrio and coupe versions proving very popular.
The new SLS ‘gullwing’, first shown at the Dubai Motor Show last December, also captured the imagination of drivers across the region with nearly 60 happy customers receiving their supercars.
And 69 units of the other main Mercedes-Benz attraction at last year’s Dubai Show, the limited Edition 30th Anniversary model of the G-Wagen, were delivered.
“Our distributors across the region are definitely seeing a resurgence in the market and we are confident that we can ride this new wave with the new products we have in the pipeline,” Bernthaler added.-TradeArabia News Service
