Chevrolet develops new police patrol car
Dubai, October 14, 2009
Chevrolet has developed the Caprice police patrol vehicle (PPV) for North America, that is similar to the Middle East Caprice passenger version, featuring the same 6.0L V-8 engine on all models.
While the standard V-8 engine delivers 403hp (gross), the 3.6L V-6 engine version packs 313 hp (gross) featuring SIDI (spark ignition direct injection) technology, which is also available for the LS and LTZ models.
The all-new Chevrolet Caprice PPV will feature an active fuel management technology, which allows the engine to deactivate half of its cylinders under light-load conditions to improve fuel economy.
The Caprice PPV will be available only in North America’s police fleets, with production commencing in late 2010. – TradeArabia News Service
