Mercedes-Benz sells record 9,000 trucks in Mideast
Dubai, March 11, 2009
Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Middle East & Levant has recorded a new high delivering more than 9,000 vehicles across the Middle East in 2008.
“Our dominant position in the market and sales figures clearly indicate that Mercedes-Benz continues to provide the right truck for this region”, said Michael Ruehle, director, sales and marketing of Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles.
“Mercedes-Benz trucks stand for optimal performance, reliability, safety and economy and it is no wonder that our vehicles are in such demand in a region with its harsh trucking conditions.”
Mercedes-Benz trucks’ optimal performance over one million kilometres is a reality, due to robust construction, durable engines, high-performing electronics and features tailor-made to conditions across the Middle East, said a statement.
“Qualities such as these are hallmarks for Mercedes-Benz trucks, and create a strong foundation that will see us through the current economic turmoil,” added Ruehle.
In 2008, Mercedes-Benz launched its third-generation Mercedes-Benz Actros, which remains the only truck with active brake assist. In increasingly dense traffic, Actros’ automated gearshifts are a further contribution to greater safety.
The Actros won the “Truck of the Year 2009” award at the recent International Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover.
“The new Actros combines technology and design on the highest level,” concluded Ruehle.
“We believe the new trucks speak for themselves with convincing Mercedes-Benz core values such as quality, reliability and residuals,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
