Chevrolet Cruze unveiled at Abu Dhabi show
Abu Dhabi, February 8, 2009
The all-new Chevrolet Cruze sedan was unveiled at the 2008 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show recently.
Wider and roomier than most of its competitors, Cruze has a bold stance with its wheels located at the outer edges of the tautly drawn bodywork, said a statement.
“Tight body panel fits and a modern, clean and uncluttered exterior add to a high quality, 'hewn from solid' appearance, raising customers’ expectations with a high-end feel in an affordable car,” it said.
The sedan sports a bold front styling, with large headlamp housings that wrap around the front corners and sweep up, arrow-like, into the fenders and sculpted hood. Other distinct design themes include a concave shoulder line, the two-tier grille and a "wheels-out/body-in" stance.
Cruze will be offered with 16-valve, 1.6-litre and1.8-litre gasoline engines delivering 112 hp and140 hp respectively, both featuring variable valve timing. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual gearbox and an all-new six-speed automatic transmission, offering a smoother ride and greater fuel efficiency than its peers.
The Cruze will be available in the Middle East in the second quarter of 2009, the statement said. –TradeArabia News Service
