Abu Dhabi, December 13, 2008
European automotive leader Renault will present seven of its latest cars, including four brand-new models for the GCC, at the Abu Dhabi International Motor Show, which runs from December 17 to 21.
Among the cars making their Middle East debut at the show will be the much awaited Renault Laguna Coupe, which aims to set new standards in the sports coupé market.
The striking coupe has been applauded for it striking design, powerful engine and ample interior space. Other new highlights for the UAE include the Renault Symbol, Koleos, Mégane Exception and Logan models.
'This motor show is a fantastic opportunity for us to introduce our latest line-up and reach out to the region’s automobile enthusiasts,' said Mohamed Bennani, Managing Director of Renault GCC.
'For the first time, visitors will be able to experience at close quarters a diverse range of Renault cars – from practical sedans to attractive sports coupes,' he explained.
Other models on display at the Renault stand, located in Hall 11A, include the recently launched Safrane which has received an overwhelming response across the region; popular hot hatch Clio Renault Sport; Renault’s first 4x4 - Koleos, which will be launched in early 2009 and Renault’s F1 show car.
Following the acceptance and success of Safrane, Renault will introduce the New Symbol to further consolidate its position in the compact sedan market.
Powered by a 1.4 16V petrol engine with four-speed automatic transmission, elegant design and excellent road handling are the car’s key selling points.
The new Renault Logan, already a worldwide success, supports a 1.6 87hp, 5-speed manual transmission.
Robustness, ample interior room and ease of maintenance are key features of the model which combine generous torque with thrifty fuel consumption.
This car will also be sold in the GCC with a 1.6 16V 110hp engine (automatic gearbox) in the 1st half 2009.
And, building on the outstanding success enjoyed by the Megane series, the Mégane Exception – a top-of-the-range coupe convertible – will be introduced as a limited edition in the UAE.
Its nocturnal black body colour is exclusive, while its 17 inch alloy wheels, bi-tone leather interiors and chrome roof arch cabin make the car both distinguished and sporty. The Mégane Exception is available in 2.0l 16V 140hp engine.
Also on display at the stand and to be launched in early 2009 will be the Koleos – Renault’s first 4x4 vehicle – which marks a decisive step in the brand's development, not only in the region but across the world.
The Koleos will feature a 2.5l engine with automatic transmission offering drivers a comfortable and easy drive along with genuine off-road capability.
All Renault models sold across the Gulf benefit from a comprehensive customer care programme called ‘Customer First.’
The programme has been designed to offer buyers with a complete peace of mind experience providing 11 essential complimentary services both before and following the purchase of any Renault vehicle including a 3-year or 100,000km worldwide car warranty.-TradeArabia News Service
