Volkswagen ME H1 sales up 42pc

Volkswagen Middle East has reported record sales of about 6,000 vehicles in the first half this year, a whopping 42 per cent rise over the same period last year.
This marks the most successful half year since VW Middle East was established three years ago, said statement said.
'In terms of markets, Yemen proved to be one of Volkswagen Middle East’s biggest growth markets with sales tripling over the past year. Following this growth pattern was Kuwait that almost doubled its sales over the same period last year. Dubai also witnessed an exponential growth of 69 per cent in sales,' said Hans-Dieter Keller, managing director, Volkswagen Middle East.
“We are positive that the growth that we are witnessing year on year at VW will continue to unfold throughout the year and for 2009 with the upcoming launches of many new models and engine versions including the Passat R36, the Jetta GLI, the Passat CC, the new era Scirocco and the greatly anticipated new Golf,” he concluded. - TradeArabia News Service
