UAE firm unveils innovative water-free car wash
Dubai, June 10, 2008
A UAE-based Facilities Management company has launched a revolutionary waterless car cleaning product, providing a green solution to keep the increasing number of cars in the UAE dirt-free, with no impact on the environment.
Saad El-Zein, managing director of Able Facilities Management, the appointed service provider of the master franchiser ‘Go Green’, is showcasing the all-organic water-free car wash product at FM Expo in Dubai.
The waterless car cleaning solution is being launched for the first time in the UAE at the exhibition, providing a way for cars to be kept clean in the country's extreme environment, without wasting precious water resources.
“Research shows that 200 litres of water are used to wash one car, water that should be saved for more important things,” said El-Zein. “Here in the UAE, cars need more care and cleaning due to the dust and extreme heat, meaning they are washed more frequently than in other countries.
“As more and more cars join the UAE's roads, it becomes increasingly important to preserve water as it is a precious resource and our ‘Go Green’ product doesn’t use any water or chemicals that harm the environment,” El-Zein continued.
Composed of only natural ingredients, the ‘Go Green’ cleaner consists of Kaolin Clay, which encapsulates and emulsifies dirt particles, and a natural Carnauba wax, derived from leaves and seeds of a Brazilian tree, that protects and polishes the vehicle.
The total FM solutions company is demonstrating the revolutionary product on a car at FM Expo, which is being organised by Streamline Marketing Group.
Able FM, which provides hard, soft and security services, hopes to attract property developers by offering a cleaning service within their garages, an option that is currently not available due to the restrictions of water-based maintenance, such as limited drainage areas.
Agata Pawlik, project manager, Streamline Marketing Group said FM companies were in a position to offer the latest green solutions to property developers, benefiting local industries as well as the environment.
“Property developers have the opportunity to learn about the newest techniques and green products at FM Expo, so that they can offer better service to their clients.”
FM Expo also featured a two day 'Property and FM conference, held at the Dusit Hotel Dubai, which hosted industry leaders discussing topical FM issues.
The conference programme focussed on green buildings, an area which is gaining huge momentum and recognition in the UAE at present.
Khaled Bushnaq, director of Energy Management Services, Dr Sadek Owainati, chairman, Emirates Green Building Council and Mario Seneviratne, director, Green Technologies and board member, World Green Building Council were among the speakers to address this issue.
The FM Awards, which coincided with the second day of the exhibition, honoured leading FM companies for their abilities and solutions within the field.
