All-new 2008 Altima Coupe hits the road

Dubai, March 3, 2008

Arabian Automobiles Co (AAC), the exclusive distributor of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault in Dubai and Northern Emirates, has launched the all-new 2008 Altima Coupe.

The celebrity Altima model, with the escalating sales in the GCC market, is now mounting with the arrival of the new Altima Coupe. Nissan Altima Coupe’s unique exterior design is intended to stand out in a crowd of sedan-based two-door models, said an official spokesman.

The new dramatically designed Nissan Altima Coupe presents a new expression of style, individuality and personal appearance.

“The Altima model has expanded its range with the introduction of the Nissan Altima Coupe which offers exciting style, outstanding performance, durability and reliability. The Nissan Altima name and outstanding reputation adds great credibility to the new Nissan Altima Coupe – and the Coupe makes the Nissan Altima model stronger by appealing to a new segment of buyers,” said CEO, AAC, Michel I Ayat.

The proportioned style and lighter overall weight also contribute to the Nissan Altima Coupe’s sportier driving feel – other desired attributes of the typically younger, more performance-oriented coupe buyers. The sporty newcomer is sure to draw buyers’ attention and enthusiasm as it has in its first appearance during the Dubai Motor Show.

The Altima Coupe utilises Nissan's all-new, highly acclaimed 'D' platform with increased body rigidity and a redesigned suspension. This new platform was developed with the objective of making Altima one of the best performing large front-wheel drive vehicles available globally.

The new Nissan Altima Coupe comes with a 3.5 L engine 24-valve DOHC V6 representing the 14-time Ward’s “10 Best Engines” award-winning VQ-series V6. The engine generates 285 horsepower and 37.3 Kg-m of torque and offers strong acceleration and refined sound quality.

The Altima Coupe is available with Nissan's new generation Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) or 6-speed manual transmissions. The Xtronic CVT is designed to create a true synergy between engine and transmission with smooth, responsive, fluid-feeling performance and efficient operation.

The exhilarating driving pleasure comes from the award-winning V6 engine, the best-in-class handling and the responsiveness feeling provided by the Xtronic CVT transmission.  Also contributing to the Altima Coupe's sporty performance feel are an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Traction Control System (TCS).

The list of impressive passenger amenities includes standard Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, Bose audio system with nine speakers including an auxiliary audio input for iPod, built-in Bluetooth hands-free phone system, dual-zone automatic climate control and steering wheel-mounted controls (includes Bluetooth system, Audio system and Cruise control).

The new Altima Coupe also comes equipped with a number of safety features, including Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and Advanced Air Bag System (AABS), which includes dual-stage front supplemental air bags, available side-impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact air bags, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

The Altima Coupe is now available in the showrooms with the well-equipped model of 3.5 SE Automatic CVT with 6-speed manual shift mode.- TradeArabia News Service
