Careers with Rolls-Royce
Dubai, July 16, 2007
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has launched the company’s first graduate programme.
It will provide up to 15 high calibre graduates with the opportunity to join the Goodwood-based manufacturer of the world’s best selling super-luxury cars.
Successful candidates will join a two-year programme designed to develop their skills, with the guidance of senior management mentors.
The programme will require graduates to undertake projects, gain a full appreciation of the company world-wide and acquire professional and business related qualifications.
Potential career paths include manufacturing, engineering, facilities management, sales and marketing, corporate communications, finance and information technology.
The programme includes cross-functional placements which could be based internationally.
This is the latest move by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in its commitment to training and development.
The company’s apprenticeship programme was launched in 2006, with the second intake of 15 apprentices aged 16-24 joining later this year.
The company also employs around 40 university students each year on industrial placements ranging in duration from six to twelve months.
The graduates will join the company at an exciting time, with the recent launch of the new Phantom Drophead Coupé. Development work has begun on an additional new model, which will join the Rolls-Royce line-up within the next three years.
The new model will sit below the price of the Phantom models and be slightly smaller, although still one of the largest and most luxurious cars on the road.
The expansion of operations at Goodwood is currently being planned and building work has already begun.
Ian Robertson, chairman and chief executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said:
“We are delighted to announce the launch of our graduate programme at an exciting time in our company’s history.
“We anticipate several hundred new jobs being created at the manufacturing plant over the next few years and our graduates will be ideally positioned to take advantage of this unique opportunity.”
