Autodrome boss for Europe

Dubai , June 26, 2007

Chairman of the Dubai Autodrome Saeed Khalfan is undertaking a summer expedition to visit motorsport venues in Europe.

He begins with a visit to the French Grand Prix at Magny Cours this weekend.

On his trip abroad Khalfan aims to keep abreast of developments on the international motorsport stage.

'Motor racing is a dynamic sport. There are constant changes and developments that we can study and use to our advantage at the Dubai Autodrome. Increasingly corporations from the Middle East, specifically the UAE are becoming involved in the upper echelons of motorsport which will invariably have a favourable impact on the grass roots of the sport in our country which our venue is working hard to develop,' he said.

The recent history of motorsport reveals that the Gulf region is fast becoming a major player in the high stakes world of international motorsport from Formula One to international rallying.

Part of Khalfan's summer fact finding mission abroad is to ensure that any new concepts or trends related to the motorsport industry, that may benefit the circuit and it's operations, do not slip by unnoticed.

'The Dubai Autodrome delivers a wide range of motorsport services to the public from karting right up to GT racing and everything in between. It is well situated and easily accessible providing driver training for the man in the street who wants to improve his normal road driving skills to the enthusiast who wants to sample a range of race car experiences in near racing conditions,' he said.

During his foray abroad, Khalfan will also be visiting Britain, Germany and Hungary.Trade Arabia News Service
