1,000 students to compete in Yas Schools National Finals

ABU DHABI, 8 days ago

Over 1,000 students from 89 schools across the UAE are gearing up for the Adnoc Yas in Schools programme, from June 20 to June 24 at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

The National Finals will feature four categories: F1 in Schools, Formula Ethara, Ethara Go, and 4 x 4 in Schools. Students will showcase their months of hard work, demonstrating a multifaceted understanding of building a brand. From “product engineers” to “marketing executives”, more than 300 teams based in the UAE will head to Abu Dhabi to showcase their academic ingenuity and creativity.

The students’ tasks include developing their team brand, obtaining funds and sponsorships, and creating their own model Formula 1 car. Their objective is not only to create the fastest car but also to establish a functional brand that mirrors professional F1 teams.

After completing rounds of qualifications, a record number of students were selected to participate in the 2024 National Finals. Students competing in the F1 in Schools National Finals will contend for a spot at the F1 in Schools World Finals.

The newest Adnoc Yas in Schools programme, Ethara Go, caters to students aged 13 and below. Ethara Go participants can build and design their own mini car and team at home for a chance to compete in the finals on June 22 and 23.

For the first time, students have been challenged to create AI show cars, which will be showcased during the National Finals.

Paul Bray, Yas in Schools Manager, said: “We have been looking forward to hosting the Yas in Schools National Finals presented by Adnoc for some time now. This year, more than ever, with the launch of our new programme, we are expecting a record number of students and schools participating across the five days.”

The Adnoc Yas in Schools programme, celebrating its 15th year, has hosted over 1 million hours of student learning since inception. It provides a platform for students to build skills in STEM while creating their own motorsport brand. – TradeArabia News Service
