NWC distributes 7m cu m water in Makkah in first 10 days of Ramadan

RIYADH, March 24, 2024

Saudi-based National Water Company (NWC) said it had distributed more than 7.2 million cu m of water in Makkah during the first 10 days of Ramadan, at a rate exceeding 720,000 cubic meters per day.
 
According to NWC, the strategic and operational water storage during Ramadan in Makkah exceeds 3 million cubic meters, to ensure the provision of the best services to the visitors.
 
The company pointed out that it has been supplying the Grand Mosque and the central region with water round the clock, while all Makkah neighbourhoods are being served by the water network for up to 21 hours daily.
 
According to NWC, its maintenance teams are present in the field and ready to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day during Ramadan. 
 
The company takes samples continuously and conducts over 1,000 laboratory tests daily to ensure that water complies with standards and specifications.
 
Regarding the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz project for Zamzam Water Distribution, the company said that the strategic storage quantity reached more than 2.2 million bottles in warehouses; these are provided to accredited contractors at a unified price in all cities of the Kingdom.
 
NWC also ensures the availability of prepared quantities for air cargo shipment at distribution points at airports, underlining the stability of its operational plan, which stipulates a maximum production capacity of up to 200,000 bottles to meet the increasing demand for Zamzam water during Ramadan.-TradeArabia News Service
