Fujairah firm to set up TV, radio in S Sudan

Fujairah Media Group (FMG), a leading Fujairah-based broadcasting company, signed a protocol with South Sudan, undertaking to set up a number of television and radio stations in the state.
The agreement with the Central Equatoria State of South Sudan aims to build a strong social, cultural and media infrastructure in the new state, following its separation from North Sudan.
Fujairah Media Group was chosen as the partner in this effort given the Group’s activities in South Sudan over the past few years, a statement said.
The protocol also covers the opening of a trade and services hub in the emirate of Fujairah and three other agreements were signed between Fujairah businesses and Central Equatoria State for a variety of industries.
The agreement was signed by Mekki Abdulla, CEO, Fujairah Media Group and Francis Barson Lado, Southern Sudan’s Minister of Information and Culture.
The South Sudanese delegation also toured the facilities of Fujairah television and radio network, and Local News in addition to the Fujairah Media Group broadcast facilities.
Fujairah Media Group has sent a special delegation to Central Equatoria State to inspect the sites, study the conditions and determine the best method to be adopted to set up the required media stations and commence the training of the local staff. – TradeArabia News Service
