IMPZ hub for ITP
Dubai, July 8, 2007
The International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) in Dubai will host the headquarters for ITP, a major technology, business, consumer and communications publisher in the Middle East.
The publishing firm has signed a 50-year leasehold contract with IMPZ to relocate its UK head-office to the Dubai.
The building will have a 44,200 sq ft net area, 40 per cent more than ITP’s existing offices at Garhoud and Dubai Media City.
The five-storey structure will have state-of-the-art facilities in addition to a two-level basement parking area.
IMPZ is the world’s first dedicated free zone for graphic arts, publishing and packaging.
Amina Al Rustamani, executive director of media, Tecom Investments, said:
“ITP’s move to IMPZ underlines its potential to attract leading media houses.
“The presence of one of the top publishing houses in the Middle East underscores IMPZ’s capabilities, including its world class infrastructure and various investment options.
“IMPZ offers valuable advantages such as the strategic location, proximity to multiple markets, free zone benefits. Being part of the graphic art and packaging cluster will help ITP and other companies from across the global industry value chain.”
ITP has more than 60 publications, including the widely circulated weekly magazine ‘Arabian Business’.
Walid Akawi, ITP CEO, said:
“We are truly glad to relocate our head-office to Dubai.
“We believe moving our operations to the IMPZ will serve our business growth and generate a centralised and professional networking platform for our group publications.”
IMPZ is currently developing an eight-storey Publishing Pavilion Tower on two plots covering an 86,000 sq ft area.
With the IMPZ’s infrastructure works completed, work is now under way on an access road to the Emirates Road.
Dubai's International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) seeks to create a unique cluster environment for media production companies from across the industry value chain, and from across the world, to interact and collaborate effectively.
IMPZ will be exclusively catering to the graphic arts, printing, publishing and packaging activities.
As a master developer, IMPZ will provide an environment of growth by building key facilities, investing in infrastructure, and forming a unique free zone that incorporates industrial, commercial, residential and community service projects under its mantle.
The vast complex will be housed on a territory of over 43 million square feet of land, in the heart of commercial Dubai.
The IMPZ initiative is part of Dubai's vision to develop itself into a global media hub.
It will provide a pro-business environment, sophisticated technology and community infrastructure to support and foster the growth of media production. TradeArabia News Service
