ArtBahrain appoints Middle Eastern art specialists

ArtBahrain, a much-awaited international art fair in Bahrain, has appointed three Middle Eastern art specialists on its board.
 
Janet Rady has been named the head of the speakers panel and education programme; Renaud Siegmann as the head of VIP relations; and Dr Alka Raghuvanshi as the communications editor, said a statement.
 
The trio, who have expert knowledge of Middle Eastern and global art, will join the ArtBahrain team to provide support for the upcoming Art Fair that will play host to 200 international art collectors, 2,000 VIP clients and approximately 10,000 visitors, it said.
 
Rady is a fine art consultant with over 20 years’ experience in international art markets; she currently represents a wide range of cutting edge contemporary Arab and Iranian artists whose work references the Middle East. 
 
She is an active advocate for the boom in Middle Eastern arts.
 
Siegmann, a former arts journalist and architecture critic, brings a wealth of knowledge in international art markets after 15 years of experience writing about global art. 
 
His most relevant role was the commissioner general of Marrakech Art Fair in 2010.
 
Dr Raghuvanshi is India's first trained art curator; a passionate advocate of all forms of art, she has been actively involved in their propagation. 
 
A writer, artist, journalist, curator, she has left indelible marks as the art world's most proactive participant.
 
Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women and a patron of the arts, ArtBahrain is a celebration of a history and culture rooted in artistic expression. 
 
The art fair has been designed to showcase the very best the country has to offer, and bring the best of the international arts world to Bahrain.

The event is set to be a culminating point for artists, art collectors and art lovers, said the statement.
