Lebanese fiesta to highlight regional tableaus

Afrah Group, a leading folk dance group operating from Beirut, will stage tableaus highlighting the traditions of many Gulf countries at the Bridal Night at the famous Pleine Nature in Lebanon on June 30.

The tableaus presented during the event will include dances and cultural performances, according to Majdi Zebian, founder and managing director of Afrah Group that owns the UAE based AG Concept.

Elaborate folk dances and theatrical works, accompanied by spectacular fireworks and attractive sets, will be bring alive the bridal night, which will be first of kind in terms of ideas, costumes, decor, lifestyle, dialogue, human interaction and historical milestones, catering to preferences of Lebanese and Arab couples for their wedding ceremonies.

“The event will include multi-cultural tableaus celebrating the varied traditions and costumes of the Arab world and other nationalities worldwide. We do this bridal night as part of Afrah Group’s commitment to make Lebanese and pan Arab weddings blend traditions with modernization through cultural integration,” Zebian said.

“Our shows will bring alive the cultures of Lebanon, Levant, UAE, Egypt, Morocco, India, Mexico, Europe, America and Asia.”

The show will incorporate finest performances embodying different genres of cultures, such as Gulf, Romanian, Pharaonic, Mexican, Latin, French, American, African and Phoenician.

Zebian added: “We are thrilled about this show. We have completed the selection of costumes and dances for each cultural genre or historical period to be highlighted at the bridal night.”

Afrah Group was established as the first Lebanese wedding dance group and then grew into a professional dance group.

“Our performers will offer any ancient or modern storyline, giving the audience a real feel of weddings in the Arab world as well as Lebanon,” Zebian said.
