Al Arab News Channel yet to resume broadcasts
MANAMA, February 4, 2015
Al Arab News Channel was still off air yesterday (February 3) after it was suspended on Monday.
The 24-hour pan-Arab channel, based in Bahrain, continued to air promotional footage, but no live news broadcasts, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
Station officials did not say when they expected to go back on air.
The GDN yesterday reported that Information Affairs Authority said the channel was "suspended for administrative and technical purposes".
The suspension came after the channel hosted senior Al Wefaq National Islamic Society member Khalil Al Marzooq, who spoke on the decision by the Interior Ministry to revoke citizenship of 72 people. - TradeArabia News Service
