Gulf Who’s Who latest directory launched

MANAMA, September 18, 2014

The latest edition of Gulf Who's Who Directory was launched recently at the Gulf Hotel in Bahrain.

The 750-page directory features an extensive history of Bahrain and is illustrated by more than 3,000 photographs of Bahrain's most influential decision-makers and business leaders, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It was published by Sunliz Publications and distributed by Al Hilal Group and Jashanmal Group.

Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza delivered the keynote speech during the launch ceremony, which was attended by Gulf Who's Who Directory managing editor and Sunliz Publications managing director Sunny Kulathakal, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Khalid Almoayed, India's former Karnataka tourism minister Dr J Alexander, businessmen, diplomats and invited guests.

“I created this book in 1978 and from then to now, I have managed to compile rare excerpts from diaries and stories that have been passed down family lines,” said Kulathakal.

“The book comes out once every two years and features a 300-page history of Bahrain as well as summaries of the country's most prominent business leaders and noteworthy individuals.

“Also there are major sections of the book dedicated to Bahrain's main industry players like Banagas, Bapco, Alba and lots more.
“This feature also includes a story about the first nurse who came to Bahrain and the first practitioner who came from India.

“We also have features on about 12 families in the country and still have another 50 families that are short-listed for the next edition.”

The directory costs BD15 ($). - TradeArabia News Service
