Sharjah TV gears up for Ramadan

Sharjah's TV2, the channel for the emirate's non-Arabic speakers, will be launching three new programmes for Ramadan in addition to its usual daily programmes.
The new programmes will focus on the principles and code of conduct during Ramadan, and support the SMC’s move to spread awareness about the teachings of Islamic religion and disseminate culture through the local community, said a statement from Sharjah Media Corporation.
It will be presented in three languages: English, Persian, and Urdu. Taleb Abdullah will present ‘Islamic Care’; a series of episodes about Ramadan in English, that focuses on many teachings of Ramadan, in addition to various aspects of Islamic ethics in dealing with oneself, life, and the community.
Mohammed Jamal, the director of Non-Arabic Speakers Channel at the Sharjah Media Corporation, said: "We have been eager to allocate a significant portion of the Ramadan lineup to the non-Arabic speaking community and present them with programmes in different languages."
‘Ramadan Mubarak’; presented by Arshad Bisher Madani in Urdu, highlights many values in Islam, including piety which is one of the highest spiritual and moral phrases mentioned in Quran, said the statement.
‘Ramadan the Spring of Quran’ is another new programme in Ramadan for Non-Arabic speaking viewers. It is the third programme to be presented in Persian by Abdullah Ramadan Kashkar, it stated.
Mohammed Jamal said these programmes will serve to raise awareness about the teachings of Islam and spread these teachings among people.
"We believe these outstanding programmes will attract audience as they have meaningful content that will meet the needs of people who seek to know more about the various values of Ramadan," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
