Fox International appoints Mideast GM

Dubai, June 1, 2014

Fox International Channels (FIC) Middle East has appointed Sanjay Raina as the general manager for its Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan operations.

Raina, who joins Fox with specialties in product strategy, content planning and broadcast operations, replaces Rohit D’Silva, who has been appointed to the role of senior vice president – content and communication (sports) based out of Singapore.

He will report to Simeon Dawes, who holds a dual role as executive vice president overseeing advertising sales and partnerships across Apac and the Middle East and as managing director of FIC Middle East, based out of Hong Kong.

In his new role, Raina will be responsible for driving growth in the region, through initiatives such as widening the company’s Pay TV operation, expanding into new markets, and developing the new sales function of Fox International Channels Middle East, which will include Fox Movies, Fox, and National Geographic Abu Dhabi.

“With his diverse background and proven track record, we are pleased to have Sanjay on board to help carry Fox International Channels and National Geographic Abu Dhabi forward in the region,” said Dawes.

“Sanjay’s extensive knowledge of the region and his broadcast expertise adds value to our channel offerings and allows us to take full advantage of today’s opportunities.” - TradeArabia News Service
