Endemol wins new Mideast entertainment deals

Endemol, a leading independent production company, has won new entertainment deals in the Middle East with CBC.
‘Best Years of Your Lives,’ produced by Endemol, has been commissioned for a 13 episode prime time run by leading Egyptian group CBC, which goes out to 300 million viewers in the Pan-Arab region.
The deal, which marks the format’s launch in the region, is set to launch in April. The series will see two teams take part in challenges to compare the decades by looking back at iconic films and music, historic headlines and fads.
Endemol Middle East has renewed its deal with CBC for a new series of ‘Star Academy,’ following the format’s successful return to the region last year. The commission includes 16 episodes where budding stars will perform live in as part of a prime-time spectacular packed with singing, acting and dancing.
There will also be a 24-hour Pan-Arab Star Academy channel capturing all the live action and 105 daily access shows which will bring viewers the day’s highlights.
The last series was the number one show in Egypt during its four-month run, airing with an average share of audience of 36 per cent and had more than 2.5 million likes on Facebook.
