Top hotels set to compete in bell boy race

Manama, December 5, 2013

Top hotels in the country will compete against each other in next month's annual bell boy race.

The charity event will be hosted by Movenpick Hotel Bahrain and will be held on January 11 at its car park, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It is the brainchild of hotel general manager Heinz KrŠhenbŸhl, who will orchestrate the day's excitements.

"Following our splendid race and success with last year's waiter's race held on the shores of Arad Bay, we at the Movenpick Hotel Bahrain emphasise the importance of supporting the local community through collective efforts," said KrŠhenbŸhl.

Trophies and cash prizes will be given to the top bell boys and teams will have to complete a special race track set up with obstacles.

The event starts from 10am until 4pm and each hotel team will have two members participating in their official uniform including their name tag.

Participating hotels are Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel and Spa; Movenpick Hotel Bahrain; Sheraton Bahrain Hotel; Gulf Hotel; Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa; Crowne Plaza Bahrain; InterContinental Regency Bahrain; Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea and Spa; and Majestic Arjaan by Rotana.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Palm Association. - TradeArabia News Service
