Dubai, November 19, 2013
UAE consumers are buying more ‘Made in Italy’ furnishings than ever, thanks to its creative blend of contemporary and modern design, said an industry expert at a recent luxury interior expo in Dubai.
The Italian Trade Commission (ITC) has reported that in the first six months of this year, the Italian furniture sector experienced a 38 per cent growth in demand from the UAE.
“This is further evidence that Italy is continuing to lead the way forward, dominating the market through its creative blend of contemporary and modern design,” said Italian Trade Commissioner for the UAE market, Ferdinando Fiore.
Fiore was speaking at the recent Italian Luxury Interiors exhibition in Dubai, which featured 34 of Italy’s finest artisans and was attended by more than 200 leading UAE-based architects, interior designers and wholesale buyers.
“Our exhibitors were met with great enthusiasm from the national business community – which set the tone for this vibrant exhibition which was full of dynamic products and many new-to-market lines,” remarked Fiore.
"The UAE has always appreciated design, elegance and quality which we feel is synonymous with the ‘Made in Italy’ products that were showcased," he noted.
