Dubai, November 10, 2013
The importance of digital technologies and the most effective ways to use social media for successful marketing were highlighted at a recent event in Dubai.
Dubai Internet City (DIC), a major ICT hub, was the strategic partner for The Marketing Show Middle East.
The two-day event, which covered the three main elements Social Media World, Big Data World and Loyalty World, was organised by leading media company and DIC’s business partner Terrapin.
The show takes place annually in over 10 countries worldwide and is the largest marketing show in the region, gathering industry leaders from across the retail, financial services, hospitality and Government sectors.
Top brands from across the region came together to learn from leading social media and marketing experts about the most effective ways to engage and understand customers, how to use social media to build better relations, and gain an insight into the global marketing trends for the Middle East.
There were interactive roundtable workshops for attendees on key topics in Social Media and Big Data, providing an interactive and engaging experience for attendees.
Ammar Malik, director of Business Development for Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource Zone said: “DIC is the strategic partner for some of the region’s leading events, including The Marketing Show, and we are committed to supporting these events as well as our business partners to drive the development of not only the ICT industry but also the thriving digital and marketing industries.”
“The UAE has a booming digital sector and according to Wamda, 88 per cent of the Middle East’s online population use social networking sites daily; a figure that is largely being driven by the region’s young and dynamic population.
“The Marketing Show provided an extremely effective platform for industry leaders to come together to share insights into their areas of expertise, and we are delighted to have partnered with Terrapin for what was a very successful event,” Malik added. – TradeArabia News Service
