Du partners with UAE Olympics panel
Dubai, June 24, 2012
Du, the integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, said it has entered into an official partnership with the UAE National Olympic Committee (NOC) in support of the country’s participation at the London 2012 Olympics.
Through the establishment of an online and mobile communication campaign, this JV aims to provide UAE nationals and residents with the most up-to-date source of news – chronicling the country’s every triumph and achievement during the Olympics, said du in a statement.
NOC secretary general Mohammed Al Kamali and du CEO Osman Sultan signed the partnership deal in the presence of Fahad Abdulrahman Al Hassawi chief human resources and shared services officer, Ahmed Aburahima, VP, government relations, du and Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, board member and financial director at the NOC.
The initiative will result in the creation of an additional section entirely dedicated to the UAE Olympic News within Eurosport Arabia, the web and mobile sports portal geared towards sport aficionados and developed by du and Eurosport.
Eurosport Arabia was launched in 2009, offering sports fans in the Mena region an exclusive digital channel broadcasting the latest sports news.
“We are an Emirati company to the core, and it is a great honour to be able to support our country’s participation in the London 2012 Olympics by partnering with the UAE NOC,” said Sultan.
“Eurosport Arabia is the perfect platform to bring patriotic Olympics fans closer to the action, by providing up-to-date coverage on the UAE team’s progress,” he stated.
Thanking du for the support, Al Kamali said: “Since digital communication outlets serve as today’s leading news sources, we believe that this partnership will prove immensely beneficial for avid Olympic followers looking for to-the-minute news feeds.'
'We are working very closely with our myriad national teams and are confident that they will be coming home with gold medals,' he added.-TradeArabia News Service
