Dubai jewellery show to honour emerging talent

DUBAI, December 9, 2015

Outstanding emerging and professional design talents are set to be recognised at this year’s Jewellery Design Awards to be held during the upcoming Dubai International Jewellery Week.

Notified earlier this month of their success, the winning designers also have the opportunity to have their design showcased during Dubai International Jewellery Week running from December 9 to 12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

In the ‘Emerging Designers Award Category’, the winners are Amal Alzahrani, for her design entitled Al Adiah, who won the Arabic Influenced Jewellery Design Award Category. Cannelle Poncin Germain for her design entitled Lucky Fish for the Asian /Far East Influenced Jewellery Design Award Category, and Tapas Bera with his winning design entitled Noor-e-Minara, who was crowned winner of the Innovative Jewellery Design Award Category.

The ‘Professional Group Award Category’ also had a series of winners. Indika Wijayarathna, won the Festive-Inspired Jewellery Design Award Category with the design entitled Together We. Vaishal Jariwala won for the design entitled A Cause You Believe In for the Bridal Jewellery Set Design Award Category.

Julius Dela Cruz also won for his design entitled Altitude in the Futuristic Jewellery Award Category. Mohammad Adyalchi won for his winning design entitled One Genius Piece in the CADCAM Technology Award Category, and finally Ronaldo Buensalida won the Objet D’Art. Award Category with his design entitled Symphony.

Taking place during Dubai International Jewellery Week, the Jewellery Design Awards has seen some of the leading authorities on jewellery design come together to judge and support the competition.

Each winner of the Jewellery Design Awards will also receive a trophy and certificate as well as a GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional Diploma course sponsored by GIA Middle East.

Shoppers can attend Dubai International Jewellery Week free of charge, where they will be treated to jewellery and fashion workshops, a Beauty Hub and even have the chance to see a jewellery artisan at work. – TradeArabia News Service
