Regional Labs opens in Bahrain; aims to link tech talent with Israeli firms

MANAMA, March 20, 2023

Bahrain's pool of technology talent will benefit from the newly launched Regional Labs, which aims to encourage Israeli technology companies to recruit young tech professionals from the kingdom and the region.
Regional Labs is a new player in the Middle Eastern tech ecosystem. Headquartered in Manama, with branches in Israel and Portugal, it will operate a network of innovation hubs in the Middle East to link technology professionals in the region with tech start-ups in Israel, to provide employment opportunities and build a culture of innovation.
The announcement was made during the "Connect2Innovate” conference in Manama, organised by the Bahraini Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Israeli NGO Start-Up Nation Central.
Ami Marom, Founder of Regional Labs, says: “Over the next decade, we plan to attract more than 100 Israeli companies to hire Bahraini talent. These companies will train and hire over 1,000 Bahrainis in high-paying jobs in the technology sector. Bahrain is our first stop in the region, we plan to expand our services to neighboring countries too. Our aim is to encourage Israeli tech companies that are considering expanding into the GCC market, to hire skilled regional talent for software development, customer service, sales, support, and other technology related roles. This will open a window of opportunity for young technology professionals from the region. It will also help Israeli companies to benefit from the local market knowledge of the professionals they hire from here.”
Regional Labs in Bahrain will augment its offering by running acceleration and incubation programs for local Bahraini companies as well as providing a regional hub for international companies, especially Israeli organizations, seeking to expand into the GCC.
Marom added: “In the long run, we believe our activities will greatly benefit the Bahraini economy and will create synergies between Israel and Bahrain. Our initiative will build bridges by offering Israeli tech companies a fast and uncomplicated way to build and employ tech teams based in Bahrain and the region, in addition to providing training courses by Israeli mentors in several in-demand tech-related roles, to young technology professionals from the region looking for entry-level positions in the tech industry.” - TradeArabia News Service
