Talks start over Iran nuclear fuel swap deal

Tehran, May 17, 2010

Leaders of Iran, Turkey and Brazil have started discussing an agreement over a nuclear fuel swap designed to allay tension over Tehran's atomic programme, Iran's al-Alam television reported on Monday.

"Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will sign the agreement after their meeting is finished," Ali Baqeri, deputy head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, told al-Alam. – Reuters
