Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Bashir arrived in Qatar on Sunday, Al Jazeera television reported, as Arab leaders gathered for a summit which is set to discuss his indictment for war crimes.

Bashir has visited Egypt, Eritrea, Libya and Ethiopia over the past weeks after an international arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court accusing him of masterminding atrocities in Darfur.

Qatar, which hosts a US military base, said last week it had faced pressure not to receive Bashir but repeated an invitation for him to attend. - Reuters
